Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival

This year will be the 40th anniversary of the Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival. On May 10th, head to St Paul’s Church on the West Piazza, the spot where Samuel Pepys spotted the first Punch and Judy show in May 1662.

This annual Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival celebrates the red nosed stick-wielding puppet, bringing together dozens of puppeteers in a colourful, highly entertaining afternoon.

It starts with a procession at 11am around the neighbourhood, before a church service at midday and puppet shows from 12.30pm. You’ll also find puppet workshops, food stalls and entertainment including maypole dancing, clowns and folk music bands.

Come enjoy a day of traditional British entertainment!
